Spurs aim to avoid relegation battle
A north London derby with implications at both ends of the Women’s Super League table takes place today as Tottenham host Arsenal. Spurs ended a run of defeats by beating WSL bottom club Leicester last time out but must ensure they keep up the momentum to prevent any chance of being sucked into the relegation picture.
Arsenal fight for top-four spot
Arsenal, meanwhile, are back in fourth having recently dropped points to title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea. A midweek defeat to Bayern Munich in the Women’s Champions League has not dampened the Gunners’ mood too much however, although they will hope to come through today’s game unscathed ahead of next week’s return leg.
Arsenal won the reverse fixture 4-0
Brisbane Road hosts the derby clash, which went the way of Arsenal when these teams met for the reverse fixture in September – to the tune of a 4-0 win.
