City, Nigeria – Omo, dem don do am again! Femi Soneye, wey be Chief Corporate Communications Officer for Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), don drop mic! E announce am for him Facebook page sey e wan put family matter first and carry him personal wahala. Na so life be, sometimes work dey too much, and family fit suffer small.
Soneye talk sey him dey grateful to all him colleagues wey support am over di past 20 months. E say, “Dear Esteemed Colleagues, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to you all for the unwavering support, professionalism, and genuine commitment you’ve shown…”nNa so everybody dey feel am, because nobody like to see person wey dey put work for head pass family.
As e yan, e say, “I wish to inform you that I have stepped aside from my role… This decision will allow me to devote more time to my family.” Abeg, nothing dey sweeter than family time! Meanwhile, we no sabi when dem go fit find replacement for am, but we dey hope sey dem go fit do am sharp sharp.
For di last few months, e get plenty shake-up for NNPC Ltd. In April, President Bola Tinubu don change plenty people for di board, so all dis resignation wahala fit just be part of di shake-up. Dem don replace Mele Kyari with Bayo Ojulari as new GCEO. Na so dem dey clear house like sey na Spring cleaning!
Soneye wey don work for di company as communication chief since October 2023, represent wetin dem fit call proper transition for di oil sector. E carry di workload of handling sensitive communication matters – na serious wahala, no be small. Before e join NNPC, e don build im reputation well for dat international journalist space, wey he bright like diamond, sabi cross-border journalism wella.
But e no go just disappear like that. Soneye promise sey e go still be “steadfast supporter and ambassador of NNPC Ltd wherever I go.” Him dey sure sey some people go miss am for di office because wetin dem say na even when person dey run, e fit still support dem from outside. Wise words!
As we dey enter dis new phase for NNPC, we de watch wetin go happen next. E no clear how dem go fit manage dis many changes, but one thing be say, Di energy future of Nigeria dey call for fresh minds and better strategies. We hope say dem go fit reason di matter well.
In summary, make we raise our glass of palm wine for Soneye for e time for NNPC. E kam no dey easy, but family matter dey important pass any corporate title. All di best for wetin dey come next, my guy!
