Nizzolo returns to Paris-Nice as Henao makes his debut for Team Qhubeka ASSOS
The Qhubeka ASSOS team (www.TeamQhubeka.com) have named an exciting lineup for Paris-Nice which starts on Sunday, with a comeback for Giacomo Nizzolo, who scored a superb stage victory in the race in 2020, and debut for Colombian Sergio Henao.
The eight-stage race is expected to feature a number of sprinting opportunities which will see the European and Italian champion ably supported by the now familiar faces of compatriot Matteo Pelucchi and German Max Walscheid.
Nizzolo sprinted to an extremely impressive victory in the second leg of the 2020 edition of this race and it will once again be an important event looking ahead for the remainder of the season.
The time trial Victor Campenaerts, who has been in excellent shape, will have an eye on what the 14.4 km effort of the third stage will bring to his discipline of choice.
The final stages around Nice will see the general classification decided and it is here that the climbing skills of Fabio Aru, supported by Sander Armee and a first round of Henao, will come to the fore.
The impressive Colombian is the first rider from this country to ride for our team and we are delighted to see what he is capable of not only in this race, but for the season ahead.
We would like to warmly thank Rodrigo Mota Garrido for submitting his video to announce our team for Paris-Nice. You can watch this here (https://bit.ly/3rlIffV).
Our team has been leading this initiative since the start of the season and look forward to continuing to look for ways to bring our amazing fans closer to the team they support.

Giacomo Nizzolo
Paris-Nice is obviously one of the toughest races of the year – always stressful and always run at a high pace. I think it will be very important as a next step towards the goals that follow, starting with Milan-Sanremo, so it’s a race that is certainly very important for the Classics as well.
We can’t wait to be there, to put work, miles and quality in the legs and try to be precise and score results in the sprint stages.
Sergio Henao
I am so happy to finally be back in Europe and to start the season with Team Qhubeka ASSOS in Paris-Nice.
I look forward to racing with my new team and look forward to playing my part in contributing to our team’s goals and working towards team success.
Gabriele Missaglia – Sports director
As we have seen so far, we want to make sure that we are trying to play the best possible role in running and racing as a team. It has been a key feature starting with what we talked about in our training camp and something that we will continue at Paris-Nice.
How are we going to do this? Well at Giacomo we have a rider who has already won a race this season, and who won a stage here in 2020. We will fully support him in the stages that we think we can compete in while Victor and Max look to get started. really. strong performance against the clock in the third stage. They both drove really well so I’m excited about what they can offer us.
For the general classification we have a strong group made up of Fabio, Sander and Sergio. It’s great to finally have the latter linked with us and we know he can be an important driver for the coming season so it will be interesting to see how he is level right now.
