NiMet predicts 3-day sunshine, haziness

Nigeria‘s Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has forecast three days of sunny and hazy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday.

NiMet’s three-day weather outlook released in Abuja predicted sunny and hazy conditions in the northern region during the forecast period.

He predicted that the states of Kebbi, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Dutse, Borno and Yobe would experience light dusty fog conditions.

According to the agency, sunny skies with patches of clouds should prevail over north central states on Monday.

“Cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine should prevail over inland and southern coastal cities.

“There are prospects for isolated thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Edo, Delta and Akwa Ibom during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Imo, Ebonyi, Ogun, Bayelsa, Lagos and Akwa Ibom during the afternoon and evening hours,” he said.

Nimet said a light dusty haze was anticipated over the northern region on Tuesday.

It forecast sunny skies with patches of clouds over the north central states during the forecast period.

The agency expects cities in the interior and on the southern coast to be under cloudy skies with intervals of sunlight during the morning hours.

He stated that there were chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Edo and Delta.

Anticipate isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ondo, Enugu, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Lagos and Cross River.

It also indicated that a light dusty haze was expected over the northern region during the early hours of Wednesday.

He added that there were chances of a moderate dusty haze in the region with localized visibility less than or equal to 3,000 meters later in the day.

The agency forecast partly cloudy to sunny skies over the north-central region in the morning hours with the possibility of a hazy atmosphere during the afternoon and evening hours.

Inland and southern coastal cities were expected to be cloudy with intervals of sunlight during the morning hours.

NiMet added that there were chances of isolated thunderstorms over Imo, Abia, Lagos, Cross River and Rivers during the afternoon and evening hours.
