NiMet forecasts thunderstorms and rain for 3 days

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted three days of stormy and rainy weather from Wednesday to Friday.

NiMet’s weather forecast released Tuesday in Abuja predicted thunderstorms with rain over parts of Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara and Sokoto states on Wednesday morning.

According to her, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Gombe, Borno, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina and Zamfara in the afternoon and evening.

“Intermittent rains are expected over parts of the Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the morning.

“Later today, there is a prospect of moderate intermittent rains over parts of Niger, Nasarawa, FCT, Kwara and Kogi states.

“Southern inland and coastal towns are expected to be cloudy with rain showers over parts of Lagos, Cross River and Akwa Ibom states in the morning,” he said.

According to her, rains are expected over parts of Osun, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Lagos and Delta states in the afternoon and evening.

“For Thursday, cloudy skies are expected over the northern region with little rain over parts of Kano, Katsina and Sokoto states in the morning.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are forecast over parts of Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Katsina, Bauchi and Borno states.

“Cloudy skies are forecast over the north-central region in the morning with the prospect of isolated rains over parts of Plateau, FCT, Nasarawa and Niger states in the afternoon and evening,” he said. he declares.

It predicted cloudy skies over inland and southern coastal towns with little rain over parts of Edo and Akwa Ibom states in the morning.

Rain was forecast for parts of Edo, Ekiti, Oyo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Lagos and Bayelsa states in the afternoon and evening.

Cloudy conditions are expected over the northern region with rain over parts of Yobe, Sokoto and Katsina on Friday morning, according to NiMet.

The agency forecast thunderstorms over Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Bauchi, Adamawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Borno, Jigawa, Gombe and Taraba during the afternoon and evening.

NiMet predicted that the north-central region would be cloudy in the morning with the prospect of rain over parts of Kogi, Niger, Kwara, Plateau, Benue and FCT during the afternoon and evening.

He predicted southern inland and coastal towns would be mostly cloudy in the morning with the chance of rain over parts of Imo, Oyo, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa later in the day. (NAA)
