Nigerian govt reveals graphic detail of Nnamdi Kanu’s acts of terrorism

The federal government has revealed full details of the killings and destruction caused by the leader of the outlawed indigenous people of Biafra, IPON, Nnamdi Kanu, which has prompted the slamming of felony charges against him.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Federation Attorney General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami said the committee inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari had compiled a series of attacks carried out by members of the IPOB / ESN between October 2020 and June 2021.

According to him, these attacks were carried out against democratic institutions, in particular the installations of the INEC in order to obstruct the democratic process in the country.

Here is the breakdown of attacks:

“This, acting on the incentive directives of Nnamdi Kanu, the members of the IPOB and the demonstrators of #EndSARS attacked and killed numerous security agents, destroyed several public and private properties, in particular police stations, buses of public transport and other facilities across the country.

“That on October 21, 2020, Nnamdi Kanu, via an online radio broadcast (Radio Biafra), further incited the members of the IPOB to burn down all the police stations and kill the government security forces, which was carried out and several security personnel (especially police officers) were killed and public and private property destroyed.

“One hundred and seventy-five (175) security personnel were killed by IPOB / ESN, including one hundred and twenty-eight (128) police officers, thirty-seven (37) soldiers and ten (10) other security agents;

Murder of Prominent Nigerians (Recently there have been horrific killings of traditional leaders: Obi 1 from Okwudor Autonomous Community, Eze E. Anayochukwu Durueburuo and Eze Sampson Osunwa from Ihebineowerre Autonomous Community as well as the killings of Dr. Chike Akunyili and eight others as well as the murder of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak on May 30, 2021);

“As a result of Nnamdi Kanu’s broadcasts, there were nineteen (19) attacks against INEC facilities which resulted in the destruction of offices as well as the fire of eighteen (18) logistics vehicles. ‘INEC, several electoral materials, ICT equipment and gadgets in Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo states;

“That one hundred and sixty-four (164) police stations and formations, including the police headquarters, Owerri, Imo State were attacked by IPOB / ESN resulting in the death of one hundred and twenty-eight (128) police officers { as indicated in III above}; one hundred and forty four (144) injured while six hundred and twenty eight (628) vehicles were destroyed.

“That three hundred and ninety-six (396) firearms and seventeen thousand seven hundred and thirty eight (17,738) ammunition were washed away during the IPOB / ESN attacks;

“That there have been three (3) IPOB / ESN attacks against the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), including the NCoS headquarters in Owerri, Imo State, where one thousand eight hundred and forty-one (1 841) detainees escaped;

“That the headquarters of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Umuahia, Abia State, was also attacked by IPOB / ESN, resulting in the death of one (1) officer;

“That there have been several IPOB / ESN attacks and destruction (arson) of public and private property during the EndSARS and Biafra unrest across the country, particularly in the South East and South South regions, particularly the Oba Palace in Lagos where twelve (12) apartments were completely looted and vandalized, the country house of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, was set on fire, more than one hundred and fifty (150 ) buses burned down at Lagos Bus Station, Senator Ndoma Egba’s house in Calabar Municipal, Cross River State, was completely looted and vandalized, Lagos State DNA and Forensic Center, City Hall Race Course, First Bank Branch Lagos, Lagos State Public Works Commission, Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Marina, Lagos, High Court Igbosere, Lagos, were all burned to the ground, among other heinous crimes committed.
