Nigerian Athletes Shine, Tobi Amusan Fall Hand for Diamond League

Lausanne, Switzerland – Na dem dey shine again! Last night, Nigerian athletes, Favour Ofili and Nathaniel Ezekiel, show say dem get the ginger for the World Athletics Diamond League Circuit.

Ofili, our star girl, no wan carry last as she finish second for the 200m race, just behind America’s Brittany Brown wey clock 22.23 seconds on wet track (na wa for rain!). Ofili run 22.31 seconds and make Côte d'Ivoire’s athlete, third with season’s best time of 22.37. E be like say wahala dey for the rain, but our babe no shake!

Meanwhile, Ezekiel dey burst brains with him first 400m hurdles win for the Diamond League. E run am in 48.08 seconds, dem no fit catch am! Na American Trevor Bassitt wey come second with 48.14 seconds. Nothing dey sweet pass when Naija people dey shine!

But no be all Naija athletes dey enjoy for Switzerland. Our world record holder in women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, no fit make am for am as she land outside podium, finishing fifth with 12.82 seconds. E be like say the pressure dey too much for am since she no gather her normal ginger.

Nadine Visser from Netherlands na the babe wey win that race with a season best of 12.45 seconds, wehn she show Masai Russell (12.53) and Ditaji Kambunji (12.54) who get more run energy. Poor Amusan still dey try, but today no be her day. Jamaican Ackera Nugent (12.57) even gawa Amusan enter fifth. E be like say the competition no get chill!

So, while Ofili and Ezekiel dey pop bottles in celebration, Tobi go need to sharpen her skills for the next race. Na so life dey go for the athletes wey dey represent better Naija!
