A News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who visited the park reports that people of all ages could be seen relaxing and having fun at the park with different recreational activities.
Miss Dolapo Duruwojo,who was present alongside her family, said she was using the break to spend time with loved ones.
“I have been looking forward to this break because it has been a stressful week for me so it is a nice time to spend with my family.
“I have been to this place on many occasions with my boyfriend but today makes it special because of the occasion and I intend to make loads of memories here especially with my boo,” she said.
Mr Adeleke Idahosa, a father of four, said he was using the day to spend time with his family and show them how much they are loved.
“I was looking forward to the day so I can get deserved rest from the stress of work in a good serene environment.
“Coming to the park is perfect for me to appreciate nature and the environment.
It’s so good for the soul, ” he said.
Mr Dotun Alao said he came to the park to ease burdens from his head.
“I’m just a regular person who comes to the park to have fun, enjoy myself and network with new people.
“I’m glad for the public holidays as it has given me more time to come here, enjoy the serene environment and clear my head,” he said.
Mrs Bukola Olodo, an ice cream seller, noted that the break had been lucrative for her business due to high patronage.
“I have made money from business today because a lot of funseekers have been patronising me.
“I wish there can be more public holidays because during festive periods, I usually make a lot of money and it makes me happy,” she said.
An official of the park who pleaded anonymity, said that the park had always attracted hundreds of fun-seekers .
“There is usually large turnout of people at this park because the park has maintained its high standards and has been able to stand the test of time.
“There are funseekers who come on daily basis to have fun because of its precise location, safety and beautiful environment,” the official said.
