Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger has played host to many prominent personalities and other Muslim Ummah who were present at the three days Firdau prayer for the late Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Saidu Namaska.

The event attracted many Islamic scholars and was characterized by special prayers from different Imams as well as recitation of the Holy Qua’arn.

Bello admonished the people not to relent in praying for the late Emir, his family and the entire people of Kontagora Emirate.

He enjoined the people of Kontagora Emirate to remain calm and patient in the present situation as the process of electing a new emir would soon commence.

He explained that the kingmakers would soon converge to start the process in accordance to the law as expected.

The Governor prayed to Allah to guide the Kingmakers in doing the needful in selecting someone that would continue with the good legacies of the late Emir.

He noted that the growth and development of the emirate should be given priority.

“I appeal to the people of Kontagora to be patient, whoever is going to be the next Emir, God has already destined but at the same time, it is also important for the Kingmakers to do the needful.

”Take their time and go with the voices of the people and select the right Emir that will be beneficial to Kontagora Emirate”, he said.

He expressed gratitude to all those who shared with the Emirate in her moment of grief and prayed Allah to reward them all.

Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Traditional Council, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, represented by the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Attahiru, said they have lost a father but believe Allah will direct the kingmakers in the election of the new Emir.

A title holder in Kontagora and former Military Governor of Kano State, retired Col. Sani Bello, also prayed for a successful process of selecting a new Emir when the time comes.

He urged whoever would emerge the new Emir to accept it and see it as an act of Allah.

The Madawakin Kontagora, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed, who is now coordinating the affairs of the Emirate, thanked the role played particularly by the Governor and all his support to the Emirate.
