Niger Govt. spends N5.5bn on water works – Commissioner

Alhaji Mamman Musa, the state Commissioner for Water Resources, disclosed this during the 2019 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship election campaign/stakeholders briefing organised by Abubakar Bello Campaign Organisation (ASB) on Monday in Minna.

Minna, Dec. 17, 2018 (NNN) Niger Government says it has spent N5.5 billion on procurement and installation of electro-mechanical equipment for adequate supply of water in major towns of the state.

Alhaji Mamman Musa, the state Commissioner for Water Resources, disclosed this during the 2019 All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship election campaign/stakeholders briefing organised by Abubakar Bello Campaign Organisation (ASB) on Monday in Minna.

He said the equipment, such as modern pumping machines and generators, were procured for urban and semi urban water supply.

Musa said that the procurement had helped in recording a remarkable improvement in water supply in Minna, Bida, Suleja and Kontagora.

He said the Lambata/Gawu Babangida water scheme had been completed for adequate water supply in the area. (NNN)
