3 According to Busari-Akinnadeju, the `IAMANIGERIAN’ campaign on patriotism, citizenship awareness and citizens’ appreciation was to increase the pride that the people had in their national identity.
4 “Our core values remains to instill the values of patriotism into the minds of every Nigerian if possible from childhood to adulthood.
5 “We want Nigerians everywhere, both home and abroad to uphold dignity and pride of the country; we will instill integrity and other national values in every citizen,’’ she said.
6 The executive director said that the group had inaugurated a national committee consisting of 36 members from each state of the federation to oversee its activities at the state level.
7 She however, said that the entire organisation’s activities on the campaigns would be coordinated by the head office in Abuja.
9 Busari-Akinnadeju advised youths to seek right leadership mentorship, build individual capacity and gain financial independence.
10 She further said that while striving to re-brand the citizens and nations identity, citizenship awareness and appreciation, self-reliance and financial independence would not be left out.
11 “ Self reliance or financial independence, skills acquisition and entrepreneurship among many others are major factors for effective and sustainable re-branding,’’ she said.
12 POP aims to instill in the Nigerian youth the right leadership and political values appropriate for national development through political education, mentorship and scholastic awards.
