NGO empowers Plateau women with N50,000 each

 An NGO Justice Development and Peace Commission JDPC of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos has empowered 50 women with N50 000 each in Jebbu Miango community of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau Mr Felix Dimka the Project Officer Emergency Preparedness and Response Team EPRT of JDPC disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Jos He said that farmers in the community were grouped into 10 clusters and supported with seeds pumping machines herbicides and other farming tools Dimka further disclosed that the empowerment supported by Menonite Central Committee MCC an international organisation aimed at boosting agricultural and economic activities in the community With the support of MCC we empowered 50 women with N50 000 each in Jebbu Miango This is to enable them to go into petty trading and other economic ventures to boost their personal income fight poverty and become self reliant Also we grouped some farmers into 10 clusters and provided them with pumping machines and its accessories different kind of seeds fertilisers among other farming tools Basically this is to boost agricultural activities and reduce poverty and hunger among the people he said NAN reports that JDPC had with the support of MCC and Mission 21 rehabilitated 52 houses for victims of attacks in the community The organisation had provided relief materials and foodstuffs to the victims on many occasions to cushion the hardship due to unwarranted attacks NewsSourceCredit NAN

Mr Felix Dimka, the Project Officer, Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPRT) of JDPC,  disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Jos.

Menonite Central Committee

Dimka further disclosed that the empowerment, supported by Menonite Central Committee (MCC), an international organisation aimed at boosting agricultural and economic activities in the community.

”With the support of MCC, we empowered 50 women with N50,000 each in Jebbu Miango.

”This is to enable them to go into petty trading and other economic ventures, to boost their personal income, fight poverty and become self reliant.

”Also, we grouped some farmers into 10 clusters and provided them with pumping machines and its accessories, different kind of seeds, fertilisers among other farming tools.

”Basically, this is to boost agricultural activities and reduce poverty and hunger among the people,”he said.

MCC and Mission

NAN reports that JDPC had, with the support of MCC and Mission 21, rehabilitated 52 houses for victims of attacks in the community.

The organisation had provided relief materials and foodstuffs to the victims on many occasions, to cushion the hardship due to unwarranted attacks.
