Mr Johnson Ibidapo, Programme Officer, HDI told newsmen, on the sidelines of the workshop that it was important to remind parents/guardians of their roles in ensuring that all children of school age were entitled to basic education.
“HDI has come to remind parents of their duty to ensure that children of school age are enrolled for basic education.
“We have also come to encourage them to take ownership of government projects in the state,’’ Ibidapo said.
The programme officer said that the state government had commenced the implementation of the 2018 SUBEB action plan, with 2.94 billion naira earmarked for various projects in schools across the state.
He called on all education stakeholders in the state to assist in monitoring the implementation of the various projects.
In his remarks, Hon. Solomon Aboluwodi, Education Secretary, Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA, said that if the government gets it right at the level of basic education, the country would be well positioned for greatness.
Aboluwodi noted that there was no abandoned education projects within the LGA since they have a very effective monitoring team.
