On Friday, November 7, 2025, dem rescue 10 crew members from distress vessel, MV SEMA III, wey dey waka from Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to Calabar. Dis one na serious mata! According to Commodore Ayiwuyor Adams-Aliu, wey be the Director of Naval Information, dem organize dis operation in no time.
Dem say na distress call wey land around 8 PM make dem jump into action. Quick quick, naval gunboat loaded with submersible pump don waka go the scene. When dem reach, dem see say the vessel dey gather water like fish wey just land for dry land! Dem no waste time, quickly carry all the occupants comot – wey include one Cameroonian, one Equatorial Guinean, and eight fine Naija boys.
After dem come ashore, the crew no just na go home, dem get proper care at Forward Operating Base (FOB) IBAKA till Saturday for dem debriefing. The captain of MV SEMA III gree thank the Navy well-well for how dem take handle the matter. (E be like say dem get sense, abi?!)
This rescue action dey show wetin Navy dey try do na to protect lives for water and ensure safety for maritime operations. Commodore Adams-Aliu talk say dis operation fit talk am well for wetin Navy dey do to secure national assets and fight against criminal activities dey go for our waters.
And no be say na one rescue action only! Just few days before dis, dem don save 11 passengers from sinking boat along Bonny River. Na like say dem dey power through plenty wahala wey dey happen for river side. Wetin I go talk? Naija Navy dey sharp like that! Dem dey enjoy to smooth things for water as dem dey quench any big wahala wey dey come.
For the big picture, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, wey dey lead the Navy, don approve movement of 65 Rear Admirals to different commands and departments. E be like say dem dey reorganize to do better work for maritime security. (No be small upgrade o! If dem fit promote so many people at once, we suppose to see serious results!)
