NASS commission felicitates senate on 2nd anniversary

By Naomi Sharang

Mr. Ahmed Amshi, Executive Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, congratulated the members of the Ninth Senate on their second anniversary in office.

Amshi praised the upper house in a letter to its president, Ahmad Lawan, in Abuja on Friday.

He said: “Your leadership style and your human disposition brought great political stability, the re-establishment of the budgetary circle, cohesion and the building of a consensus within the Ninth Assembly.

“The focus of the Ninth Assembly on the economy, security, constitutional amendment, anti-corruption legislation, judicial reform, electoral reforms and socio-economic development through poverty reduction is commendable.

The President, however, assured the Senate of the committee’s commitment and determination to reposition it to create a working environment conducive to more effective legislation. (NAA)
