Oba-Oke, Osun State, Nigeria – National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) don launch the Renewed Hope Women and Youth Empowerment Programme wey go help poultry farmers with essential resources. Dis program dey target beneficiaries wey go receive up to two poultry cages, twenty-three-week-old birds, plus four bags of premium feed.
Each farmer go use di birds wey dem collect to generate immediate income as designated off-takers go buy di mature birds in three to four weeks. Dis new initiative dey aim to support young people and women for farming sector, helping dem establish sustainable income.
Cornelius Adebayo, wey be NALDA’s Executive Secretary, talk say dis program inspired by President Bola Tinubu’s vision. Adebayo explain say na part of di strategy to build Nigeria’s middle economic class and create pensions for di future.
“Dis poultry production model go help farmers make profit and also support di community,” Adebayo yan. “Di profits wey dem generate from bird sales go share among NALDA, di farmers, and di community to build a cycle wey go benefit everybody.”
Di project go encourage reinvestment and involvement from all levels of di community, as Adebayo talk say Naija fit achieve sustainable agricultural development if all stakeholders dey participate.
Adebayo also stress di importance of adhering to di programme’s guidelines to ensure success. “We go dey expand dis program across Osun State and other states very soon,” he add.
