The race don gather elite long-distance athletes from places like Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and more. The excitement no fit gree contain as we dey prepare for this one-of-a-kind event. Organisers wey be Nilayo Sports Management Limited, along with their sponsor, PremiumTrust Bank, dey put finishing touches on city infrastructure, race routes, and even volunteer logistics to make sure say everything go smooth. This year’s marathon get World Athletics endorsement, wit dem give am official label for second edition. E mean say dem wan put Abuja for map as major hub for long-distance running on top Africa level. Organisers dey pray say the presence of elite runners go make competition tough and inspire local talents. Na two birds with one stone dem wan hit, come see wetin go happen!
As all the elite runners full ground, dem dey plan to carry dem go tour the route and finalize all checks. Na dem last-minute preparations go show say we dey ready for landmark day for athletics for Naija. Race Director, the Olympian wey sabi wetin e dey talk, Yusuf Alli, don assure say everything dey set. E say, “We don arrange everything properly. Abeg, make una calm down and watch us shine!”
Last year, Abuja City Half Marathon don create waves and now, Yusuf wey people sabi as Skipo talk say this second edition go elevate everything wey dem don do. Na true! Dem dey expect number of elite runners wey dey within top 300, especially from athletes wey dey hot for Ethiopia and Kenya.
“We go still do doping tests o! No wahala. We don blue mark the route and go carry the athletes for road tour when dem land. Na ensure say everybody follow rules,” he say.
