Danladi expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work at the ongoing construction of 24km Idadu-Agashi road in Doma Local Government Area of the state in spite of the huge amount of money released to the contractor by the state government.
He urged the contractor handling the work to improve on the standard of work and speed up to justify the N1.2 billion released out of N2.7 billion contracts sum.
The house also called on the contractor handling the ongoing construction of N24.2 million Police Station at the 500 Housing Unit Doma Road, Lafia, to redouble efforts.
The house advised the state government, particularly Ministry of Works, to step up its monitoring team to ensure contractors meet up with contracts specifications.
“We are not happy with the quality of works done so far by the contractors handling construction of a Police Station at 500 Housing unit Doma Road Lafia, Idadu-Agbashi road and we advise them to improve on their works as we will not tolerate sub-standard work.
“We are out to see things for yourselves with the view of correcting any abnormality, if discovered.
“We are not here to witch-hunt anybody but to ensure that the right things are done to justify government huge investment in projects execution.
“These projects were awarded by the government to improve on the lives of our people and boost the socio economic activities of our people.
“We urge contractors to improve on the quality of works as what we want is quality and standard works for the project’s durability.
“This contractor handling Idadu-Agbashi road, we are meant to understand that government has released N1.2 billion but see where we are, the pace of the work so far has not justified that,” he said.
On his part, Mr Uba Mohammed, the Contractor handling the construction of Police
Station at 500 Housing Unit, Doma Road, Lafia, said that the government awarded the contract at the sum of N24.2 million and has recently released N10 million.
The contractor pledged to ensure that work is done according to specifications.
Mr Wang Zengxiang, the Contractor handling 24 km Idadu-Agbashi road, said that the company had recieved N1.2 billion out of N2.7 billion contract sum for the construction of the road.
Mr Housam Malaab, the contractor handling 22km Adudu-Azara road, said that the contract sum for the project is NN3. 2 billion.
“More than N500million was released to us, the duration for the project is 12months from August 2022 to August 2023,” he said.
