Myanmar seizes large amount of drugs-
Myanmar authorities have seized more than 0.6 million ecstasy tablets worth more than 28 billion kyat ($13.3 million) in Shan state, state media reported on Sunday, citing police sources.
Following a tip, anti-narcotics police raided a house in Tachilek township in eastern Shan state at around 10:30 am local time on November 21 and confiscated the drugs.
During the operation, 113.04 kg of happy water, 35,000 Erimin-5 tablets and a Honda vehicle were also confiscated from the house, it said.
The home’s owner was charged under the country’s Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the news report.
Further investigations were underway, he added. ■
