 Rep Tunji Olawuyi APC Ero constituency of Kwara says he has completed 75 per cent of his projects across the 42 wards of in the constituency since he assumed office Olawuyi said this during an interactive session with members of Okada motorcycle Association Omu Aran chapter on Friday The lawmaker while thanking the association for their unwavering support said he had been able to impact positively in the 42 wards of the constituency He promised that other projects would be completed before the expiration of the current 9th Assembly He added that completion of projects was part of his promised when he was elected and ensure that every ward felt the impact of his representation The lawmaker supported the association with motorcycles and promised to henceforth touch the association directly instead of making it an individual affair as was the practice before Olawuyi also gave the association some food items with monetary support He said his initial prayer was to ensure that the Okada riders did not stay long in the business adding that his desire is to ensure they have a better alternative source of livelihood My plan was not to be buying Okada for you my earnest prayer was that by the time I am elected those riding Okada would have been into spare part business with serious empowerment Olawuyi said He said that the statement was not made out of emotion but the fear that there were lots of risk associated with Okada business Olawuyi said that some members of the association had benefited in previous empowerment programmes adding that this might not have been routed through the association He explained that his empowerment programmes cut across party line adding that many who had benefited were not even members of the APC Earlier the Chairman of the association Mr Bisi Raphael appealed to the lawmaker to involve them in his constituency activities While pledging their support Raphael also urged Olawuyi to deal directly with the leadership of the association for better effect of the legislator s projects and interventions NewsSourceCredit NAN
