Africa Oil & Power (AOP) – Africa’s leading event organizer for the energy industry – in partnership with the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME), Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), African Energy Chamber (AEC), Mozambican Oil & Gas Chamber (CPGM) and Attitude HR, will bring together global investors and decision-makers in the oil, gas and power sector for a program of technical workshops aimed at promoting investments and stimulating growth in Mozambique’s energy and non-energy sectors.

The hybrid event will take place from March 8-9, 2021, a prelude to the upcoming Mozambique Gas & Power (MGP) 2021 conference and exhibition, which will be held live in the third quarter of 2021.

The two-day program will begin with an invitation-only Presidential Awards ceremony on March 8, during which the prestigious ‘Person of the Year 2020’ award will be presented to the President of the Republic of Mozambique, HE Filipe Jacinto Nyusi . In the presence of industry leaders and government officials, the ceremony will feature speakers from MIREME and AEC.

The second day of the event will host strategic discussions with African energy and business thought leaders and decision-makers. Under the theme, “Securing the Future: The Right Way to Maximize Local ContentThe technical workshop will be hosted by Deloitte, a leading auditing, consulting and advisory firm, and joined by key industry players to explore local content development opportunities.

Shown virtually to a local and global audience, the strategy session will feature key industry voices from formidable organizations, including Total and ENH, to examine Mozambique’s integrated approach to local content development in a round table format.

Keynote speakers attending the session will include: João Machado, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Moçambique; Thomas Rodriguez, local content manager, Total; Natalia Magaia Camba, Local Content Manager, National Petroleum Institute; and Victor Tivane, director of local content, ENH.
