Morocco reaffirms its commitment for a political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, within the framework of the Kingdom’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity

  The Minister of Foreign Affairs African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr Nasser Bourita held talks today June 5 2022 in Rabat with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Moroccan Sahara Mr Staffan de Mistura The talks took place in the presence of the Ambassador Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UN Mr Omar Hilale On this occasion the Moroccan delegation recalled the constants of Morocco s position in favor of a political solution based exclusively on the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative within the framework of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom as reaffirmed His Majesty King Mohammed VI in his speech on the occasion of the 46th Anniversary of the Green March on November 6 2021 On this occasion the delegation also reiterated Morocco s commitment to the political process of the round tables in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 2602 which calls for a realistic pragmatic sustainable and commitment to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara
