Missing Kano girl killed by kidnappers despite collecting ransom

Despite collecting part of the demanded N6 million, the kidnappers of the Kano girl, Hanifa Abubakar, aged 5, have murdered her.

His uncle, Suraj Suleiman, confirmed the murder and the recovery of his remains at a private mushroom school in the Tudunwada area of ​​Kano.

According to him, the kidnapper first took her to his wife, but the wife refused to stay with her.

“After his wife refused to stay with Hanifa, he took her to Tudunwada, where he runs a private school, and then mixed rat poison in her tea,” he said.

“After they poisoned her to death, the kidnappers cut her body into pieces and buried it inside the school.”

NIGERIAN DAILY learned that the kidnappers were arrested on Zaria Road in Kano last night while trying to collect the second installment of the ransom.

The kidnappers took the 5-year-old girl on December 4, 2021, arriving on a commercial tricycle and luring her in for a ride.

The incident occurred at 5 pm when she and other children in the neighborhood were returning from an Islamic school.
