Minister inaugurates Board of Leadership Training Centre

 Minister of Youths and Sports Development Sunday Dare has inaugurated the Board of the 70 year old Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre This followed the approval for the reconstitution of the board by President Muhammadu Buhari A statement by Mohammed Manga Director Press and Public Relations in the ministry issued on Saturday in Abuja said Dare charged the board to enhance patriotism nationalism and ethical orientation among Nigerians He said that their task was also to use the centre in imparting national consciousness and understanding among Nigerians Dare advised them to learn from the history of recent happenings that led to the dissolution of the last board as it would guide them in the smooth running of the centre According to him the centre which has been in existence since the past 70 years has provided leadership training to Nigerians from all walks of life The centre is the only non formal educational institution in Nigeria that executes experiential and outward bound education It provides training utilising natural physical and man made environment in an atmosphere in which self discovery and self actualisation are based on competence and ability he said The minister said the centre was strategically positioned to provide training and promote quality leadership and citizenship traits in the youth with focus on patriotism nationalism and ethical orientation He therefore called on the board members to bring their wealth of experience and exposure to bear in the running of the centre In his remarks the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar commended President Buhari for approving the timely reconstitution of the board Abubakar assured that the ministry would continue to provide an enabling environment to enable the board discharge its mandate of repositioning the centre for the benefit of Nigerians Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated board Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Oniyangi thanked President Buhari for the opportunity given them to serve the nation He assured that members of the board would bring in their wealth of experience to reposition the centre for maximum performance and efficient service delivery to Nigerians The new board has Bello Usman Muhammed as Chairman and AbdulGaniyu Oniyangi Audu Sabo Dantamas Suleiman Dawudu Anthony Otega Osiwe and Hezekiah Oladipo Adedeji as members Other members are DCP Rashid Afegbua Brig Gen E L Etuk Commodore Aliu Pindar Hajiya Lami Adamu Lami Bature representating the ministry and Soji Eniade Director General of the centre NewsSourceCredit NAN

16 Other members are: DCP Rashid Afegbua, Brig.- Gen. E.
