The Manchester United midfielder has been at the center of both of Scotland’s two wins in the Euro 2024 qualification campaign, after making headlines last week with two goals against Cyprus. Following the Spain game, McTominay received recognition on social media from fellow professionals, including Bruno Fernandes.

Spain is ranked 10th in the world, according to Statista.com, making Scotland’s win even more impressive. In an interview after the game, McTominay praised his team, saying they knew Spain would have lots of the ball, but his team was able to be clinical when they had the opportunity.

McTominay will be hoping that his performances for Scotland have convinced Manchester United’s Erik Ten Hag to continue to rely on him when he returns to the club.
