Manchester United have yet to start contract talks with David De Gea
Manchester United
Manchester United number one David De Gea has been the starting goalkeeper for Erik Ten Hag. The Spaniard’s contract expires in the summer of 2023 and the club have yet to open talks on a new deal.

De Gea has been a fantastic servant at Old Trafford since his arrival from Atlético Madrid some 10 years ago. The number one quickly established himself and has been the long-term choice in goal.

However, with the modern game changing and a number of young goalkeepers emerging, Ten Hag could try to move the Spaniard forward. The Dutchman is an admirer of several goalkeepers from all over Europe, including Diogo Costa.

With no talks currently open around a new deal, it would appear that De Gea could be headed for the exit. The goalkeeper will be able to speak with other clubs from January, at this time.
The goalie’s future is one that definitely divides the fan base. Some fans want the keeper to stay at the club, while others think the time is right to move on.
ESPN has reported the news suggesting no contract talks have taken place between De Gea and United. They say;
“De Gea has been the first-choice goalkeeper under Ten Hag this season, but sources have told ESPN that United have yet to start talks on a new contract.”
