Man, 45, faces N1.5m car theft charge
NNN: A 45-year-old man, Ikechukwu Mouka, who allegedly stole a car worth N1.5 million on Wednesday appeared before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

Mouka, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in March at No. 50, Omiyale St., Ejigbo, Lagos.

Aigbokhan said that the defendant stole a Lexus Rx 300 belonging to the complainant, Mr Uche Ukanwa.
He said that defendant sold the car and converted the proceed to his personal use.
Aigbokhan said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the section provides three years imprisonment for stealing.
The Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo, granted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ariyo ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and must show evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until July 7 for mention.
