Man docked over alleged N287,000 property theft

 A 34 year old man Saliu Adisa was on Friday docked before a Badagry Magistrates Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing property worth N287 000 Saliu whose address was not provided is facing a count charge of stealing He however pleaded not guilty to the charge The prosecutor ASP Clement Okuoimose told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec 31 2019 at 4 00a m at Ibereko Badagry Okuoimose said that the defendant stole one LG air conditioner worth N120 000 a stabiliser valued N17 000 and a Sumec Fireman generator worth N150 000 The total amount of the property stolen is N287 000 the property belonged to one Mr Adeshina Lawrence he said He noted that theft contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 revised The Chief Magistrate Mr Segun Aka Bashorun admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100 000 with two sureties in like sum Aka Bashorun adjourned the case until Feb 4 for hearing Edited By Debo Oshundun Ijeoma Popoola

A 34-year-old man, Saliu Adisa, was on Friday docked before a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, for  allegedly stealing property worth N287,000.

Saliu, whose address was not provided, is facing a count charge of stealing.

He, however,  pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuoimose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 31, 2019, at 4:00a.m, at Ibereko, Badagry.

Okuoimose said that the defendant stole one LG air-conditioner worth N120,000, a  stabiliser valued N17,000 and a Sumec Fireman generator worth  N150,000.

“The total amount of the property stolen is N287,000; the property belonged to one Mr Adeshina Lawrence,” he said.

He noted that theft  contravened Section 287  of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (revised).

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Segun Aka-Bashorun, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000  with two sureties in like sum.

Aka-Bashorun adjourned the case until Feb. 4 for  hearing.
