2 The defendant, whose address was not given, is facing a three-count charge of shop breaking, stealing and malicious damage.
3 The prosecutor, Insp. Oriyomi Akinwale, told the Court that the defendant and others at large committed the offence on June 25, at about 04:30 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.
4 Akinwale alleged that the defendant and others at large broke into the shop of one Okonta Henry.
5 He alleged that the defendant and his fleeing accomplices stole phones worth N5 million and N64,500 cash belonging to the complainant.
6 He also alleged that the defendant and his accomplices maliciously damaged one iron door valued at N150,000 belonging to the complainant.
7 According to him, the offences contravene Sections 421, 302(a) and 354 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
8 The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
10 He adjourned the case until Aug. 17, for hearing. (
