2 Oyekunle, whose address was not provided, is facing a two- count charge of assault and conspiracy.
3 The prosecutor, Cpl. Titi Olatoye, told the court that the defendant and others still at large, committed the offences on Feb. 29 at about 9.00 p.m at Oloko area, Ota, Ogun state.
4 Olatoye said that the defendant assaulted the complainant, Ever Chukwu, with an axe on the head during a disagreement, causing him a permanent injury.
5 She said that the offences contravened Sections 351 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
6 The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge
7 The Magistrate, Mrs O.O.Obaleye, granted the defendant N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
8 She ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
9 The case was adjourned untill March 18, for trial.
