Mr Nduka Nwanwenne, the outgoing Zonal Commander, National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Benin Zonal Command, has tasked members of staff of the zone to make sacrifice, commitment their watchword towards achieving success.

Nwanwenne, who has been redeployed to Uyo Zonal Command, gave the advice on Thursday in Benin, at a ceremony to mark his redeployment.

He also urged the workers not to be static in their responsibilities, but to put more efforts and discipline in order to achieve the desired result.

The NAPTIP chief noted that the fight against human trafficking was a social service that bothered on helping humanity and as such, utmost commitment, discipline and sacrifice were required to win the fight.

He also noted that human trafficking was so endemic in the country, especially in the Benin Zonal Command, which required the collaboration of all stakeholders, and not just one agency to stem the tide.

According to him, it is important that in whatever field one finds himself, one should leave positive footprints in the sands of time.

While commending members of staff for their cooperation and support, the outgoing zonal commander said that all the achievements recorded during his tenure in the state could not have been possible with their support, urging them to keep the flag flying.

Earlier, Mrs Nosa Mamman-Odey, the Acting Zonal Commander of the zone, assured the workers that she would sustain and improve on the achievements recorded by her predecessor.

The Nigeria News Agency reports that Nwanwenne was the first staffer of NAPTIP to head the zone since its creation, as his predecessors had been officers from the Nigerian Immigration Service deployed to the agency as heads.

NAN also reports that while the Benin zonal command comprises of Edo and Delta, Uyo zone covers Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River, Rivers and Bayelsa. (NAN)
