Luis Campos Fit to Leave PSG, Major Club Don Dey Wait

PARIS, France — Luis Campos, the Sporting Director of Paris Saint-Germain, is set to leave the club as he is in advanced discussions with a major European team, sources confirmed to Get French Football News on May 4, 2025.

Despite head coach Luis Enrique urging for a contract renewal, Campos has yet to reach an agreement with PSG, leading to speculation about his future. Campos joined PSG in 2022 and has shifted the club’s strategy from acquiring high-profile stars to emphasizing homegrown talent and academy products.

As discussions continue, insiders suggest that the prospects of Campos signing a renewal contract are slim, especially with his current deal expiring at the season’s end. “The longer the negotiations drag on, the less likely it is that Campos will stay,” a source close to the situation stated.

Furthermore, Campos’ potential exit has attracted interest from several ambitious clubs eager to capitalize on his expertise and vision. “His success with Les Parisiens has put him on the radar of many top clubs in Europe,” the source added.

In the meantime, PSG also tried to sign Christopher Nkunku during the winter transfer window but elected against making an offer. Nkunku, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £52 million, has faced injury challenges that have limited his impact on the field.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Nkunku is contemplating a summer departure from Chelsea, backed by ongoing discussions regarding his future. “Now, his camp is engaging with various clubs in England,” noted journalist Alex Bailey, emphasizing the potential for a move to either Arsenal, Liverpool, or Manchester United.

“Chelsea are looking to recuperate their £50 million investment, but finding a buyer willing to match that price isn’t easy,” Bailey explained.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has shown interest in Arsenal’s William Saliba, who has been in talks with the club for weeks. Saliba’s current contract with Arsenal runs until 2027, yet Madrid’s desire to strengthen their defensive line could expedite negotiations.

“Real Madrid has been keeping an eye on Saliba for a while now and is expected to make an offer,” a source familiar with the negotiations disclosed. “They see him as a long-term solution for their defense.”

Despite interest from Madrid, Saliba appears committed to Arsenal, which has offered him a renewal. “He’s not pushing for an exit from Arsenal; however, the club must prove their competitiveness to keep him,” further comments revealed.

With the summer transfer window approaching, both Campos and Saliba’s futures remain uncertain as clubs vie for talented players capable of influencing their seasons.
