Chukwuma said that the event was the first of its kind in the history of the LMDC.
“It is necessary to kit the stakeholders with the knowledge required for effective use of the various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services rendered by OYSMDC,” Chukwuma quoted Abimbola as saying.
She also quoted Justice Jumoke Pedro, Chairman of the LMDC Governing Council, as saying that the graduands’ participation in the LMDC MST was an opportunity to begin or re-energise their mediation practice with appropriate mediation skills and ethical foundation for excellence.
Pedro also enjoined the graduands to participate in the LMDC Mentorship Programme designed to facilitate participants’ development in mediation, according to Chukwuma.
Chukwuma added that Mrs Achere Cole, Acting Director of LMDC, charged the participants to imbibe mediation ethics such as diligence, impartiality, confidentiality and honesty to ensure a smooth mediation process and enhance ADR growth.
