LLC Masters concludes with 1.48 billion digital reach
A new milestone in journey of LLC
Legends League Cricket (LLC) concludes its second edition of LLC Masters in Doha, Qatar, witnessing a new milestone in its journey by registering a global digital footprint of 1.48 billion. The tournament brought cricket back to Qatar after three decades and saw an overall jump of 50% in fan reach, compared to the previous edition held in Oman where the tournament had registered a footprint of 703 million.
More than 75% of digital footprint by South Asia
More than 75% of LLC Masters’ digital footprint is from South Asia, including India, which has the largest cricket fan base in the world. The average TV rating (TVR) for the matches saw at least 15% higher ratings and viewership than any other international T20 league watched in India throughout the year. Cumulatively, approximately 100 million fans in India watched the tournament on TV and digital platforms in just eight matches, according to BARC data.
LLC a sought-after event amongst cricket fans
Ravi Shastri, LLC Commissioner, said that the recently concluded LLC Masters season had established Legends League Cricket as a sought-after event among cricket fans. He added that Legends League Cricket had created a new category with LLC Masters and positioned itself as a logical extension to active cricket as a second innings for legends. With top names headlining the league, it has already surpassed other various other T20 leagues around the world outside of IPL, said Shastri.
14 broadcast partners ensure wide viewership
Legends League Cricket had 14 broadcast partners to ensure that 280 million fans watched the matches live across the world through various OTT and broadcast platforms, such as Disney+ Hotstar, Star Sports, FanCode, BT Sports and ESPN, among others. Raman Raheja, CEO of Legends League Cricket, said the fan engagement around the league had increased manifold, and that the league had co-produced the season with Star Sports with the live feed in five languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
LLC Masters trending in cricket-loving nations
LLC Masters had a global digital reach of about 1.48 billion and was trending in many cricket-loving nations, with about 985 million reach through various social media platforms. Cricketing greats enjoying the tournament and being together in Qatar ensured more than 528 million social media interactions in the tournament’s span.
