Abbas stated this on Wednesday in Wamba, while playing host to members of the Wamba/ Farin-Ruwa Youths Movement residing in Lafia.
He said that his administration had given topmost priority to the protection of lives and property of the people of the area, hence the need for collaboration to promote peaceful co-existence.
Abbas expressed appreciation to the youth for the visit, while assuring them of his support to enable the association succeed.
“Since assumption in office, I have been executing projects that had direct bearing on the lives of our people, apart from the protection of their lives and property.
“This is because the importance of peace to societal development could not be overemphasised.
“I am ready to collaborate with you and other organisations in promoting peaceful co-existence among our people.
“Since no country can achieve any meaningful development without peace, there is, therefore, the need for us to act in that direction,” he said.
Abbas solicited for the support of the youth and other people of the area to enable him succeed in the task ahead of him.
Responding, Mr Solomon Mundung, the President of the association, said that the visit was to intimate the chairman on their activities, which were aimed at bringing the people of the area together.
He commended the developmental strides of the council boss and called for its sustenance.
