Letter purportedly suspending Okorocha is fake – APC

By Emmanuel Mogbede

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians to disregard an allegedly suspended letter from Senator Rochas Okorocha, a former Imo governor, of the party as bogus.

Senator John Akpanudoedehe, national secretary of the APC and the Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), made the call in a statement Tuesday in Abuja.

He called the said letter false and the work of fifth columnists ready to provoke a crisis within the party.

“It has been brought to the attention of the National Secretariat of the APC that a false letter of an alleged suspension of Senator Rochas Okorocha from the party is circulating in the public space.

“The fifth columnists and forgers have obviously taken advantage of the unfortunate and recent leaks of our official correspondence with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“They now have ‘copy and paste’ the forged signatures of CECPC president, governor Mai Mala Buni and secretary on equally fake letters,” he said.

Akpanudoedehe said the APC currently does not have a National Working Committee (NWC) as stated in the bogus letter.

He said the party had the CECPC which had been tasked with repositioning it, uniting it and strengthening it.

The APC scribe called on the discerning public to be wary of fifth columnists and wholesalers who relentlessly schem to use every opportunity to stoke the crisis in party and politics through fake news.

He also urged the media to always rely on its well-known and official communication and advertising channels to obtain accurate information on the party’s activities.

Akpanudoedehe advised Nigerians to reject the bogus letter, pointing out that it was imagined by the fifth columnists. (NAA)
