The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on Sunday said that it had created a WhatsApp platform for the coordination of disaster management within the state.
Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Director-General (DG) of the agency, said that the platform would allow live location, images and audio clips to be shared between the public and the agency.
Osayintolu in a statement said that the launch was in furtherance of its responsibilities of coordinating disaster management within the state.
“The WhatsApp platform is manned 24/7 and can be reached on: +2347025004985.
“The service is an attempt to additionally cater for another demographic of Lagos, while providing the agency with better information for an improved and targeted response,” the LASEMA boss said.
The agency said it would continue to improve its service delivery in line with the Lagos State Government’s agenda to secure the safety of lives and property of residents.
