Labour party accuses INEC of deliberate action} The Nigerian Labour Party has criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its decision to reset and reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines after the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, requested to examine the election materials.

The party also questioned the commission’s claim of backing up data retrieved from the machines without independent witnesses or representatives from political parties present.

The Peoples Democratic Party also expressed skepticism about INEC’s ability to conduct the upcoming governorship and Houses of Assembly polls in a free, fair, and transparent manner.

However, INEC refused the Labour Party’s request to observe the resetting and reconfiguration of the BVAS machines, stating that the procedure was an internal affair.
