Abuja, Nigeria – Omo, e be like say wahala don land again! For Kuje magistrate court, dem don remand Nnamdi Kanu‘s brother, Emmanuel Kanu, and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, plus ten other people. Na because of the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest wey happen for Abuja on Monday, and now dem dey face charges wey concern breach of public peace.
The protest no be small matter o! E start from Transcorp Hilton Hotel, but the police no carry last. Dem deploy tear gas to scatter the protest like say dem dey chase rat for market! As crowd begin dey gather, police come scatter dem again, and wahala just dey escalate like say na firewood wey dey burn! (Just imagine the drama!)
Mr. Ejimakor come post for X (formerly Twitter) say magistrate no listen to their side of the story. E just dey insist make dem stay for Kuje prison till Friday. E no dey funny o! These guys dey protest for wetin dem believe, but the police claim say dem dey break court order wey stop protest for some sensitive areas wey include Aso Rock and National Assembly.
As the police dey talk, Emmanuel Kanu and the crew wey dem arrest, e mean say dem dey face charges like criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance. Na wah! Wetin we go do for country wey people no fit express their rights again? (This matter dey vex me small o!)
Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, for him X handle, don talk say dis arrest na illegal move by IGP Kayode Egbetokun to stifle the voice of the people. E dey mobilize people since two weeks ago to come out for national protest, but na only Abuja carry the full energy come out.
After all the drama, the protesters don gather for multiple spots like Utako and Jabi, but police still dey fire tear gas. Na like this wahala take dey continue for the FCT dey disrupt market and business activities. As the protest dey waka, na so dem move reach Apo and Gudu area before Sowore and some small pipo go meet police command try release their guys.
Since 2021, Nnamdi Kanu don dey under detention because of him campaign for Biafra independence. Na the same struggle wey don cause plenty palava inside Nigeria. Na wetin we dey see now, as he dey face trial for terrorism charges. But many people dey shout say, ‘wetin happen to freedom of speech?!’ (E be like say our leaders no dey hear this side of the argument.)
As we dey now, lawyers don file for bail for Ejimakor and Emmanuel, but police no gree accept. Na serious battle be this o! E fit shock you to know say the court wey don stop protest still no serve the protesters letter before the day start! How dem wan make pipo fit respect law wey dem no even follow? (E clear say na spirit of water wey dey move for this case!)
