Lee Jong-suk writes a fan letter where he confesses his love for IU. He asked fans to be considerate and continue to support them.

By India Today Web Desk: K-drama star Lee Jong-suk and singer-actress IU are dating. Their agencies confirmed the news to Korean media on December 31. After the news went viral, Jong-suk shared a letter to fans in which he confessed his feelings for IU and revealed more details about his relationship. He also praised IU for being someone he could lean on and mentioned that he had a crush on her for a long time.

Jong-suk’s letter reads: “And I think many of you would have been surprised because of yesterday’s articles, the person on the news. I first met her at age 20 and it felt like inexperienced love, something big that I couldn’t make it. We’ve been friends for a long time. Well, I want to explain it better. Somehow, she stayed in my mind even when I was living my own life. I think you’ll understand when I say that she was like Kang Dan-i to my”.

For those who don’t know, Kang Dan-i is a character from Lee Jong-suk’s series, Romance Is a Bonus Book. On the show, his character Cha Eun-ho has a long-standing unrequited crush on the character. Jong-suk compared his real-life feelings for IU to those on the show.

‘SHE IS AN INCREDIBLE PERSON’

Furthermore, he praised IU in his letter, sharing, “She would share my worries in life and I could lean on her as my friend. And sometimes she is like my older sister even though she is younger than me. She is an amazing person who is mature, but it also makes me want to protect her. And now it makes me want to be a better person.”

He also expressed his regret that he was unable to confirm the news the way he wanted. “I should have introduced her well, but this is something new for me too.
