Rev. Emmanuel Adeniyi of the Banner of Christ Church, Adegbayi, Ibadan, has appealed to community leaders to assist security operatives with useful information on how to nab criminally minded individuals in their areas.

Adeniyi, who made the appeal during his Sunday sermon in Ibadan, decried the high level of criminal activities, especially kidnapping across the country.

He said that access to genuine information on the abode of some of the culprits or their sponsors within the society would enhance efforts of security personnel in nabbing them.

According to the cleric, the kidnappers are human beings living in the societies and there is possibility that some people know the whereabout of the perpetrators of these crimes.

“People will be afraid to reveal information to security agents due to ignorance or fear of being attacked after revealing such information.

“Leaders in various towns and villages should be security conscious, know means of livelihood of people living in their respective communities and be brave to ask questions from whoever they suspect.

“Inform security operatives about their findings and never cover up any person found wanting,” he said.

Adeniyi further tasked Christians to intensify prayer over the insecurity so that God would intervene and save the country from people bent on making the country inhabitable.

He urged Muslim faithful to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for peace and save country. |
