NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 24 – The buzz don dey real as wey Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda, take waka through KDF recruitment centres for Mombasa and Kilifi. This tour wey happen on October 24, na part of di big recruitment exercise wey dey go on nationwide for all dem wey wan join di military wahala.
For Kilifi County, dem set up di recruitment process for Matsangoni, as di Senior Recruiting Officer (SRO), Lieutenant Colonel Alice Ngure, take dey supervise things. Excitement no fit miss as hopeful candidates wey ready to serve don gather like say dem dey prepare for carnival! Even Omenda self talk say e dey happy to see young Kenyans ready to wear military uniform with pride.
“I am happy to be here in Kilifi today,” Omenda talk with smile wey fit light up dark room. “It is encouraging to see so many young Kenyans turning up.” Na wah! Patriotism dey flow pass like palm wine for di village, and di young ones for di area no gree slack. Ngure sef talk say dem see plenty candidates wey sharp, energetic, and ready. Na those kind qualities wey dem need to fit join KDF.
But small wahala dey there, as Ngure talk say di plenty candidates don bring some logistics wahala come for di recruitment officers. Dem just wan make sure say everybody go get chance to go through di physical fitness tests, medical checks, and document verification wey be like step for military movie.
Later, VCDF don waka enter Mombasa, see wetin dey happen for di Likoni recruitment center. He meet di other SRO, Lieutenant Colonel Hesbon Mugune, who confirm say di turnout dey mad but e dey manageable. “We are ensuring that every candidate is served efficiently and fairly,” Mugune talk, because e no wan make anybody cry for di corner.
As Omenda dey talk to di candidates for Likoni, e clarify say KDF no go take any form of corruption or malpractice. “We do not condone any form of malpractice or corruption,” e emphasize, to make everybody cool down. E also talk say na collaboration with agencies like di Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and di National Police Service (NPS) go help make everything clean and genuine.
Before dem wrap up di tour, Omenda remind di candidates say military work no be play matter: “Military work is a continuous process.” E encourage dem say even if dem no make am today, e get plenty chance wey dey wait for dem tomorrow.
As di recruitment exercise go end on October 25, 2025, KDF dey look forward to bring in fit and disciplined soldiers to represent di fine spirit of Kenya. Na ordinary people wey get heart dey join military to serve, and na joy dem go carry into dem uniform.
