LAGOS, Nigeria — Nigerian film director and producer Kayode Kasum don shine as he collect di prestigious Trailblazer Award for di 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) wey happen for Lagos on Saturday.
Kasum, wey be di brain behind di recent movie REEL LOVE starring Timini Egbuson, don also direct Nigeria’s first live-action animated film as well as one of di country highest-grossing films.

Born on February 2, 1992, Kasum grow up for Lagos State. He attend Lagos State Model College for him secondary education before he move to Yaba College of Technology for higher learning. Him career start as motion graphics designer for Wale Adenuga Productions before him enter di film industry as producer for an advertising company.
Kasum’s first feature film, Dognapped, wey be di first live-action animation film for Nigeria, land for screens in 2017. But na di film Oga Bolaji wey make him popular after e drop am for 2018. Him don also produce other hit films like Sugar Rush and Fate of Alakada.
During him career, Kasum don direct over 10,860 minutes for M-Net telenovela series like Unbroken and Riona. Some of di notable films wey him don direct include Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life, Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards, Quams Money, and him psychological horror film, Ile Owo (House of Money). Kasum don rise to be di fourth-highest-grossing film director for Nigeria.
Him achievement don catch eye from industry critics as he don receive nominations for Future Awards Africa in 2019 for filmmaking. In 2020, him name don dey among di top Nollywood film directors.
