Kanye West’s Instagram Post

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Kanye West expressed that he likes Jewish people again after making a series of antisemitic comments and conspiracy theories in public appearances and interviews last year. West claimed to have enjoyed watching Jewish actor, Jonah Hill, in the movie 21 Jump Street, which has received over 2 million likes. He further added that no one should harbor hatred towards millions of innocent people because of the actions of one or two individuals.

West’s Previous Antisemitic Comments

West has made several antisemitic comments on social media. He once tweeted that he is “starting to think anti-Semitic means [the N-word],” and praised Adolf Hitler during an appearance on Infowars in December. He was eventually named the 2022 Antisemite of the Year by StopAntisemitism, a watchdog organization aiming to expose antisemitic groups and individuals.

Adidas Cuts Ties with West

West’s partnership with Adidas, worth an estimated $1.5 billion, was ended after the company stated that they “do not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech.” West’s net worth was estimated to be $2 billion, but after Adidas, Balenciaga, the Gap, and Foot Locker cut their ties with him, he was worth $398 million.

West’s Controversial Views on Jewish-Owned Record Labels

West made several remarks about a “Jewish underground media mafia” during an interview with Chris Cuomo in October. He suggested that Black musicians signing with Jewish-owned record labels was a form of “modern-day slavery.” Although he apologized for some of his comments in an interview with Piers Morgan, he later shared a photo of the Star of David combined with a swastika, leading to his suspension from Twitter.
