KADUNA, Nigeria — The Christian community dey mourn as Rev. Azzaman David, prominent pastor of The King Worship Chapel and Ministry, Inc., die on Saturday from motor accident. E kon happen while him dey return from Makurdi, Benue State, back to Kaduna.
News of Rev. Azzaman’s death shock many Nigerians, as him known for strong teachings and interfaith dialogues, especially on social media. Details about di accident still dey unclear, but Rev. Mohammed Mohammed, one of di late pastor’s close associates, confirm say he die for di scene.
“REV Azzaman Azzaman had an accident on him way back from Makurdi. He died alone in di car. May he rest in peace. May di Lord comfort us in di name of Jesus,” Rev. Mohammed write for Facebook.
Rev. Azzaman na respected cleric wey gather plenty followers on Facebook because of him boldness to engage in religious debates. Him dey share deep knowledge of di Christian theology and him always dey defend di faith dey passionately.
Di news don bring plenty tributes from admirers and friends wey call him fearless, an advocate, and a mentor. “A great soldier of di Lord takes a bow and goes home to wear him crown of glory after fighting a good fight of faith!” Mustapha Mushas write on Facebook. “Rev. Born for di northern part of Nigeria, Rev. Azzaman rise to prominence through him strong engagement with Muslim scholars and atheist thinkers. Even though some of him methods dey controversial, critics acknowledge di respect wey him earn because of how him handle scripture, history, and philosophy.
Di Chairman of di Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for di Northern States and di Federal Capital Territory, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, express deep sorrow over di loss. He say, “Evangelist Azzaman na courageous preacher, an unapologetic defender of di Christian faith, and a passionate advocate for di rights of persecuted believers.”
He also talk say, “Kaduna don lose a great soldier of Christ. Though him departure create big vacuum for di Christian community, we dey find comfort say he don finish him race and dey rest for di eternal glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Rev. Azzaman leave behind him wife and children. Funeral arrangements never be announced yet, but na clear say him legacy go continue to inspire courage and faith among believers.
