Kaduna lockdown: Traditional leader urges citizens to be law abiding.

Muhammad Kabuki-Yahya,  a traditional title holder in Rigasa area of Kaduna, has called on all citizens to abide by governments directive to stay at home as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.

Kabuki-Yahya, who holds the title of Sarkin Arewa, made the call on Saturday in an interview with the Nigeria News Agency ( NAN) in Kaduna.

He said all measures taken by the state government were timely, and indicated that those in government cared for the health and welfare of the people.

He advised all the citizens to stay home, avoid crowded places and practice regular handwashing in order to be safe from the virus.

” I am happy to say that the people of Rigasa are understanding and law abiding citizens; even though we are very populated, most of us are at home.

” We hope the government will assist those who get their daily bread by giving out food items to ease the situation,” he said.

Kabuki-Yahya also called on well to do members of the community to assist their neighbours who were in need.

NAN reports that the Kaduna state government had on March 26 announced total lockdown and directed people to remain at home till further notice.
