 Gov David Umahi of Ebonyi has described the judiciary as an imapartial arbiter in human conflicts Umahi made the remark in a reaction to Friday s judgment of an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja which confirmed him as the All Progressives Congress APC Candidate for Ebonyi South Senatorial District In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy Mr Chooks Oko he further described the judiciary as forthright and dependable The court with this judgment has once again asserted its inviolate position as the hope of all seekers of justice the statement read Umahi expressed gratitude to God for the judgment and thanked his constituents for their show of solidarity to him I thank them for their prayers steadfastness and goodwill which culminated in this victorious judgment I beckon on stakeholders of the district to collaborate with me to win the election and also deliver other candidates of the party in the elections I vow to represent the district equitably and advance the cause of Igbos and disadvantaged Nigerians he added The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Court dismissed the appeal filed by Mrs Ann Agom Eze challenging Umahi s emergence as the APC candidate for the election The court also set aside the judgment of the Federal High court and all the orders it made It also held that the lower court was wrong to uphold Agom Eze s counter affidavit and failed to uphold the primary election of June 9 2022 where Umahi was elected as the APC senatorial candidate It maintained that Umahi s election was not challenged by anyone within 14 days as prescribed by section 285 9 of the 1999 constitution NewsSourceCredit NAN

“The court with this judgment has once again asserted its inviolate position as the hope of all seekers of justice,” the statement read.

Umahi expressed gratitude to God for the judgment and thanked his constituents for their show of solidarity to him.

“I thank them for their prayers, steadfastness and goodwill, which culminated in this victorious judgment.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Court dismissed the appeal filed by Mrs Ann Agom-Eze, challenging Umahi’s emergence as the APC candidate for the election.

The court also set aside the judgment of the Federal High court and all the orders it made.
