Jonathan Majors’ attorney shared text messages claiming he did not physically assault alleged victim

Text messages from alleged accuser released
An attorney for actor Jonathan Majors has released text messages from his alleged accuser which apparently say he did not physically assault her. Majors was arraigned on Sunday on assault and harassment charges after a domestic dispute in New York. The complaint against him does not name the female accuser but states he struck “her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.” It also claims he “put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.”
Majors denies all charges
According to Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ attorney, he denies assaulting the woman. He called 911 out of concern for her mental health and was subsequently arrested due to an NYPD protocol requiring arrest in certain circumstances. Chaudhry provided text messages to CNN, allegedly from the victim, apologizing to Majors and assuring him that he would not be charged. She also purportedly stated that she would ensure nothing happened about the incident and that it was her fault for trying to grab his phone.
Investigation ongoing
CNN is unable to verify if the text messages came from Majors’ accuser. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated their investigation is “active and ongoing.” Majors is popularly known for his roles in “Creed III,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and “Lovecraft Country.” He was set to be a major part of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe.
