Alhaji Garba Muhammad, the Commandant, Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has charged the 37 promoted officers of the command to be more committed and dedicated to duty.

The spokesman of the command, Mr Adamu Shehu, said in a statement in Dutse on Monday that Muhammad gave the charge shortly after decorating the officers with their new ranks at the command’s Headquarters.

Shehu said the commandant also urged them to regard their elevation as an added responsibility.

‎ “To whom much is given much is also expected”.

Muhammad also urged the newly promoted officers to reciprocate the gesture by rededicating themselves to duty.

“A total of 37 officers from Jigawa NSCDC command were promoted and decorated.

“However, three of the officers promoted to the rank of Commandant of the Corps (CC) had their decorations at the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja.

“Thirty four were decorated yesterday (Monday) amidst rainfall and they included one Deputy Commandant (DC) and one Assistant Commandant (AC).

“Others were one Chief Superintendent of the Corps (CSC), one Superintendent of the Corps (SC), Six Deputy Superintendents of the Corps (DSC), and 12 Assistant Superintendent of Corps (ASC 1).

“At the Inspectorate Cadre, one Chief Inspector of the Corps (CIC), three Principal Officers (PIC) and seven Senior Inspectors (SC), were also decorated,” Shehu said.

The spokesman quoted the commandant as having thanked the Commandant-General of the corps for finding the newly decorated officers worthy of the promotion, while congratulating the officers.

“The promoted officers pledged to continue discharging their duties with high sense of responsibility and commitment,” he added.
