Lagos, Nigeria — Popular television show Jhanak, starring Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, dey set to experience two major generational leaps within two months. The first leap of five years don already air, while the second leap of 20 years go happen in June, leading to complete change of cast.
Jhanak don dey on air since November 2023 and consist of captivating storylines. The first leap happen yesterday, and e go be followed by the 20-year leap which go end the current stories of Aniruddha and Jhanak, represented by Ahuja and Nawab respectively.
Actress Kajal Pisal, wey also dey part of the show, don confirm the changes. She talk say, “Yes, the show go take a five-year leap in May, and then a 20-year leap in June. After that, all the actors, including me, go dey replaced. I no even sabi when our last day of work go be, but na wetin I know be that.”
Pisal express mixed feelings about the change and reflect on her time with the show. “I go surely miss the entire unit and cast of Jhanak. I dey very happy to be part of this team, and I hope say I fit get such team for future.”
She don also mention say Jhanak don be the most fulfilling experience of her career. “For all my working experience, this show don be the best for me. I go miss everybody, but I sabi say the show dey need this leap to move forward,” Pisal add.
As for her future after Jhanak, she say, “I no go take break from work. If something good come my way, I go take am. And if that one dey take time, maybe I fit go on vacation too.”
Jhanak, wey dey produced by Magic Moments Motion Pictures, na loose adaptation of Star Jalsha’s Bengali series Jol Nupur, and e dey follow the life of Jhanak, a young woman wey enter marriage of convenience to escape from an obsessive stalker.
For Jhanak storyline, viewers don see how she develop romantic feelings for Aniruddh, her cousin’s fiancé, as dem dey live for the Bose house. Dis generational leap go mark new beginning for the show as new actors go take over the roles and continue the story after 20 years.
